Or a popular water-resistant Under Armour face mask designed to sit off your lips, giving you plenty of room to breathe without getting fabric sucked into your mouth mid-run. It’s also made with the company’s Iso-Chill fabric, so it doesn’t overheat despite being bulkier than other masks.

BuzzFeed editor in a black face mask that protrudes slightly off the face

Emma Lord/BuzzFeed

Hey, there’s my face again! This mask has the approval of a *ton* of runners and athletes in its reviews, but also runners IRL. I run in Central Park four days a week and I am constantly seeing other runners in this mask. I have two of them in my own run rotation, and I’m impressed not only by how well they stay in place and don’t get over-sweaty and gross on long runs, but by how well they wash up and maintain their shape. The straps are super soft on your ears, too. I’ve gotten to used to straps chafing on longer runs that I was surprised by what a difference this made. I gifted one of these to my dad for Christmas, too, and it’s his go-to for walks and errand running. It’s just an overall easier mask to breathe in (while still maintaining a tight fit and keeping the people around you safe!).

A delightful little tool called the “Bug Bite Thing” that suctions on all kinds of bug bites to reduce swelling, itchiness, and redness.

A BuzzFeed editor's arm with a bite on it "before," a pic of the bug bite tool, and a pic of the editor's arm after it's been suctioned with swelling/redness reduced

Rebecca O’Connell / BuzzFeed

This works on mosquitoes, bees, wasps, biting flies, sea lice, and more (although TBH, if this list of bugs gets any longer I may just stay indoors forever!!).

Promising review: “I have always suffered, so badly, from mosquito bites. For some reason they love me and I get more bites than the average person. I get giant welts that itch for days that most anti-itch creams don’t even help. Itching turns them into open wounds, and I even have some scars from some old bites. I saw a post on Facebook about ‘The Bug Bite Thing’ and I bought it on Amazon as a last resort. I am absolutely in love with this product! It is the first thing I’ve used that stops the itch permanently! I am so happy I found this product. I’ve even used it on my children aged 2 and 7. I highly recommend this product!” —Megan

A bottle of Drop It, because *climbs to a roof deck, clears throat* IT’S ROSÉ SEASON, Y’ALL!!!!!!!!!! And this natural wine sulfate and tannin remover works its magic on your glass in just 20 seconds, so you can rest easy after your sip knowing you won’t follow it up with a Post-Wine Headache or allergic reactions.

Emma Lord/BuzzFeed

It’s also a lot more cost-effective and environmentally-friendly than wine wands or other competitors — a single bottle of this can be used to treat up to 55 glasses of wine, as opposed to wands that can only do a few glasses each before they get tossed. Drop It recommends 1-2 drops for each glass of white wine or rosé, 2-3 for a glass of red, and 7-9 if you’re treating the whole bottle at once. Once it’s in the glass, swirl lightly for 20 seconds, and you should be raring to go!

Promising review: “For many years, I have been that friend who always says ‘no thanks, I can’t drink wine.’ Even one small small glass would give me the worst migraine. So I gave up. Several weeks ago, I happened across an ad for Drop It and thought I might as well give it a shot. I took a big risk the day it arrived and had two huge glasses of red wine that I knew would give me a massive migraine the next day. It just so happened I had a midterm that next morning too — so the stakes were high. I woke up feeling fantastic. Since then I have repeated the experiment (to make sure it wasn’t a fluke) and found that no matter how much wine I drink, as long as I use the drops, I don’t have a migraine the next day. I’m so pleased to have found something that makes wine drinking possible and enjoyable again! I have nothing but great things to say about the product. It’s easy to use and very discreet. I visited some friends last week and we spent a few hours at a wine bar. It was easy to add my drops. I took a small taste of the wine before adding the drops and found that it did not alter the taste at all. Thanks for a great product and a great buying experience. I will be back for more.” —Mackenzie

Promising review: “Love this spray. Like that it’s small and portable. It does set your makeup matte, which I love. Keeps my makeup in place all day. I use it pretty much daily when it’s summer. It is great for when you travel to anywhere hot and humid and don’t want your makeup to slide off.” —Tina J.

A blister-preventing balm that basically magics an extra layer between your skin and your shoe, so you can go on all your spring hikes without worrying about breaking in your new boots.

A model rubbing balm on their heel

Amazon

Promising review: “Do your feet a kindness and buy this now!! Stop suffering from hotspots and blisters!! The first time using my new hiking boots on the trail ended up with me hobbling back to the car due to the painful blisters new boots create. I know, I should have broken them in, but I didn’t. I was excited to get back out on the trail with my new boots but hesitant with fear of more blisters. I did my research on how to break on boots, what the best socks are for hiking, how to treat blisters and most importantly, how to prevent them. Although I trusted the reviews of Foot Glide enough to order it, I was still skeptical putting on my brand new boots and hitting the trail. Welp, I’m happy to report, this stuff is LEGIT! Applied it to my heel and pinky toe area, both areas that were so painful on the last hike. There isn’t a scent and it’s not greasy, could barely tell I had put something on my skin. I tested it out on the same trail and felt no pain. Not even a hot spot!! This is now a staple in my hiking gear and will apply it before every trip.” —Dacia Rae

A microfiber towel for anyone who immediately starts on the air-drying beat once it starts getting warmer outside — this helps prevent frizz and hair breakage, so you can maintain your hair’s natural texture as you let it do its thing.

Where’s what BuzzFeed editor Kayla Boyd says about this towel: “Ever since I started using a microfiber hair towel, I hardly ever use a blow-dryer anymore. I’d rather not add heat to my curly hair unless totally necessary, so I’ll wash my hair at night, wrap it in a microfiber towel and let it dry on its own. It helps my curls feel much healthier — and it keeps my hair out of the way while I’m doing my skincare routine.”

A jar of Aztec healing clay masks for “maskne” (read: acne you get after you sweat in your face mask) that might be coming out to play with the heat. This clay mask essentially sucks the gunk out of your pores like a vacuum, and will leave your skin feeling so smooth and firm you’ll want to pet it.

People in the reviews are also singing its praises for reducing the size of their pores! Many of them advise mixing the mask with apple cider vinegar for best results.

Also, psst — we have solutions for all your warm weather face mask problems, whether it’s exercising, maskne, or plain old knowing where to find them.

Promising review: “As a healthcare worker during COVID-19, the increased mask wear has both myself and my partner breaking out. This has been a welcome addition to our routine. Thanks for having a product that actually works!”Brytnee

Essence’s Lash Princess mascara that not only gives you *ridiculous* instant length, but will actually stay put in the heat (as a self-certified Sweat Monster who loves this mascara, I can attest to this personally).

Emma Lord/BuzzFeed

Hello, that is my face above, because I bought into the hype of over 100,000 five-star reviews and now I will never look back!! Putting it on is like giving my eyelashes butterfly wings. It doesn’t get clumpy, it stays put ALL the live long day (I spent all of the ridiculously hot pandemic summer wearing it, so I can speak to that), and you can apply it on very lightly if you don’t want it to look so dramatic, or continue applying for longer lashes each time.

Promising review: “I have to be honest, for a ‘cheap’ three-pack mascara, I did NOT have high expectations. These, however, exceeded my expectations and went MUCH MUCH farther. I had been buying a certain $25/tube brand (rhymes with truepique) and I like these just as much!! I’m saving a TON of money and like my lashes just as much.” —Liz

Amazon, amazon.com

This is designed to hydrate all hair types, but a lot of reviewers with 2c through 3c hair mentioned that this worked best for them.

Promising review: “I’ve FINALLY found ‘the one’!!! I’ve tried hundreds of products (including wasting tons of money on ‘professional’ products) for curly hair and none hold a curl like this! My curls are soft yet the hold is amazing. I used to have to diffuse my curls and then use hairspray to lock them in place, not anymore! Just put the product in, scrunch and go! It smells wonderful too! I usually never write reviews but after 30+ years of searching for the perfect curly hair product, I found it! Forget the more expensive brands and buy this! You will not be disappointed.” —Robert Lyden Newquist

*Another* promising review: “This product smells great, makes my hair so soft and keeps my curls in check even during the hot humid summer days. I love that my hair never gets frizzy when I use this product (normally in the summer my hair is like 100% frizz!) Anyone thinking about trying this product I suggest you do!” —Melissa

An easy-to-follow hard sugaring kit perfect for anyone who wants to do a touch-up before outdoor shenanigans. This can take care of medium and coarse hair removal whether it’s for a Brazilian or in your underarms, legs, or even toes. The process is not only quick and easy once you get the hang of it, but some people experience the hair growing back much finer afterward.

Blue Milk & Honey/Etsy

Psst — if you’re brand new to sugaring, you might want to try the soft sugaring kit first (depending on what kind of hair you’re trying to remove and your comfort level). It’s for fine and softer hair like peach fuzz or fine hair on your legs, but it’s a bit less ~intense~ for a first round.

Blue Milk & Honey is a Texas-based, Black-owned business established in 2019 that specializes in sugar wax, sugaring paste, and body care products. Each kit comes with 8–10 waxing strips. To use, either warm by hand or in the microwave, apply to freshly-cleaned skin, and apply by hand; you can remove hair with or without the waxing strips.

Promising review: “New to sugar waxing and it is definitely beginner friendly with a few tries! Lol I received bonus reusable strips which were perfect for learning how to wax. The wax is perfect to use with or without strips.” —Valerie Lopez

*Another* promising review: “I have gotten my armpits waxed professionally in the past and have also used an epilator for my legs, etc. I bought this wax to do my own Brazilians — it works great. Took me a few tries to get the hang of as I learned but now it’s running smoothly! I usually heat the wax in the microwave for about 40 seconds so I can handle it better but it does a great job. The strips definitely help and are easy to clean. Also love that it’s locally made. I will definitely keep buying and keep doing my own Brazilians with this wax.” —Meg Campbell

Promising review: “Wow, these things work REALLY well. We don’t have a shower at work and I wanted to start riding my bike to work… 12 miles each way. After a test run with these on a hot day after a ride (sweaty and stinky), they worked like a charm. I did my first ride to work last week and arrived quite sweaty. I only had to use one wipe (cleaning strategically) and air-dried for 15–30 seconds. No residue and I felt (and more importantly… smelled) as clean as if I just took a shower. As the day pressed on, I continued to feel clean… even more so than after showering. These things are fantastic.” —green freak

A hydration backpack for runners or hikers going longer distances, which has a rubber “bladder” installed in it and a tube you can drink the water from without ever breaking your stride.

The straps are also comfy and adjustable and made with a machine-washable nylon fabric that won’t overheat you. *Plus*, it comes with storage for things like keys, credit cards, and ever important snacky snacks.

Promising review: “I needed a sturdy water pack for daily hiking trips. This thing carries about two liters which, for a simple day hiking or a quick run, is more than enough. I’ve yet to run out and that’s with me basically keeping the tube between my lips and having a drink every minute or so. Both of the straps adjust perfectly and running or climbing hills it doesn’t bounce at all. The bladder has a big opening to fill. It’s big enough that I fill about half of it with water and the other half with ice cubes so I have cold water all day long.” —Amazon4Me
