The Sex and the City reboot is currently being hammered out, and, according to Sarah Jessica Parker, it’s going to reflect the world we live in — specifically, the pandemic.

COVID-19 will “obviously be part of the storyline because that’s the [world these characters] live in,” the star recently told Vanity Fair.

Although Parker hasn’t been given a script as yet, she said she believes the storyline will try to address how COVID-19 has “changed relationships once friends disappear.”

“I have great faith that the writers are going to examine it all,” she said.

As for the main storyline, Parker is just excited to see what the writers come up with. The revival will focus on her and her co-stars’ lives in their 50s — sadly, minus Samantha Jones.

“Who are they in this world now? Have they adapted? What part have they played? Where have they fallen short as women, as friends, and how are they finding their way?” Parker said about what she hopes the script will address.

“What is their relationship to social media? What has changed?” she continued. “What is their life like? For Carrie, who doesn’t have family beyond her friendships, where is she professionally?”

We’ll be not-so-patiently waiting to see what that entails when the 10-episode, half-hour series comes out on HBO MAX.
