Pneumonia has overtaken malaria as the number one killer disease among children under the age of five in Nigeria. Can we say it is because children born in our time are weak or are parents becoming too careless ?. Giving it a second thought, it could be as a result of the high rate of poverty engulfing the country, making it hard for some parents to get good clothes for their children.
A report by the International Vaccines Access Centre (IVAC) revealed that the disease was responsible for 127,000 child deaths in the country last year.
