Michelle Obama was a vision of style and grace (as per usual) at president Joe Biden and vice president Kamala Harris’ inauguration yesterday. And, as it turns out, her perfectly fitted Sergio Hudson-designed outfit wasn’t the only thing to obsess over. The former first lady was also wearing Fenty Beauty, which is one more reason to love her look.

Michelle’s longtime makeup artist, Carl Ray, gave her a gorgeous smokey eye by Rihanna’s Fenty Beauty that perfectly complemented her burgundy outfit.

RiRi, are you freaking out rn?

Clearly, when you’re attending a major outdoor event that has many emotional moments, you’re going to want to be wearing something that is strong enough to withstand potential tears!
If you’re an eyeliner aficionado, like me, you already know just how good Flyliner is. It goes on smooth and stays on like nobody’s business. Our goddess RiRi knew what she was doing when she was cooking it up in the Fenty makeup lab!

Ray, who has been working with Michelle since 2009, also used products from Pat McGrath, Anastasia Beverly Hills, Glossier, Laura Mercier, Viseart, and Lily Lashes — the cherry on top of that dramatique eye look.

While masks have definitely put certain makeup, like lipstick, on hiatus, they’ve given other products more time to shine. Eyes have always been called the windows to the soul, but now they’re really the only thing other people see, so it makes sense to step it up in the eye makeup department.
BRB, going to copy Michelle’s entire beauty look now!
